About Timber House Resort Hotel

Timber House

Brighton’s Boutique Hotel

Timber House Resort is a boutique hotel in a tranquil woodland setting adjacent to our vintage trailer park and private sand beach in Brighton, Ontario. We built our beautiful post and beam building in 1998. We have 9 guest rooms, with common rooms, an outdoor pool, a sand beach and picnic area. We offer spectacular event and banquet spaces. Licensed areas include our great hall, glam tent and patio areas.

Our resort offers overnight guests a well appointed guest kitchen and common room for light meal prep. We also provide free coffee, tea, ice and great freshwater for drinking and bathing.
Guest Common Room and Kitchen

Guests can freely access our convivial common room and dining loft which includes a guest kitchen for casual meal preparation should guests prefer staying in rather than going to nearby eateries for evening meals.

Our room rates include a hearty hot breakfast, free coffee, tea, and ice. Our guest rooms are well equipped with flat screen tv’s, telephones, and generous comfortable beds with lovely fresh linens.

Our grounds are well-tended and clean, with charming gardens, tall swaying trees and nearby wetlands and beaches teeming with wildlife and birds.

Our gardens, woodlands and sand beach waterfront beckon our overnight guests.
Well Tended Grounds Beckon

The atmosphere is laid-back and quiet. The relaxed setting encourages connection but allows for space and privacy.

We cultivate a ‘best of both worlds’ atmosphere that delivers the privacy and comfort of a hotel with the relaxed home-like nature of a high-end Bed and Breakfast. Our guests find this duality a welcome and refreshing change.

Overnight guests come from all points, locally and beyond, with many Quebec and international visitors. Many return to experience the unique aspects of the locale and our offerings in different seasons. Our facilities are great for multi-night stays.

Hotel Gateway to Prince Edward County

Close by are the wineries of Prince Edward County, the tranquil landscapes of Northumberland County and the beaches of Sandbanks and Presqu’ile Provincial Parks. We’re located strategically at the entrance to Prince Edward County closest to Toronto in a truly unique setting featuring epic views and crystal clean sand beaches surrounded by tranquil woodlands and wetlands. We offer an authentic local hotel experience that delivers the best of Prince Edward County and Northumberland County in one package.

Our People

The Timber House Resort is a project of Dave Dingle and Michele Walkau. Opened in 1998, the hotel is part of a larger property that operates as a vintage park model trailer park and we are adapting into a year-round eco-cottage resort.

1557478_10152194819849763_511141909_nResort Manager and Event Coordinator, Jordan Johnston manages the day-to-day operations of the Timber House Resort, while leading and developing our extraordinary team. Jordan is also the contact person for our event customers. Jordan has been at the Timber House for just about 6 years, starting as a server and working her way up while completing her undergraduate studies. For the past two years since completing her degree, Jordan has led the transformation of the Timber House into the leading boutique hotel and family event venue in the region.

Chef and Jill of all trades, Lucy Johnston is the core of the Timber House Resort kitchen, and the reason your food is so yummy. Lucy started helping the Timber House 5 years ago and is the center of our kitchen operations, keeping all the delicious flavours coming on any occasion. Integral to the first class Timber House Resort culinary experience is Lucy’s skill at managing complex dietary needs for large banquet groups and events.

Lucy also curates our lovely garden areas, creates our extraordinary preserves, sustains the look and smooth operation of our facility, and all the while, mentors, trains and directs our kitchen, front-of-house and house-keeping staff.

Our Team: Over the years we’ve developed a great team of serving, housekeeping, kitchen and groundskeeping staff. They are friendly and professional. We train and uniform our staff to operate our resort with a formal quality system that engages and rewards while encouraging feedback from our guests.
